Nagsimula ako sa pamumundok dahil napilit lang ako. Tandang-tanda ko pa na halos isang taon akong inaya para lamang sumama na umakyat ng bundok dahil ayaw ko talaga. The thought of climbing a mountain and reaching its summit is really great, fulfilling like what a casual hiker would say, but even though I still don't have an experience when it comes to climbing a mountain, I know that the journey along the way won't be that easy.

How it all started
How it all started
2016. I was in college when I first encounter people who occasionally hike.It has been a dream for me to climb a mountain so I was so fascinated every time I hear stories about their experience. All I can remember is the story about Mt. Pulag with an astonishing sea of clouds. I want to see it myself.
Hiking, mountain climbing, trekking requires a physically fit body, which I don't have during that time. I can easily get exhausted just walking a short distance due to physical inactivity. With the body built that I have way back when I was in college, all I can do was to listen. So I abandoned that desire to hike a long time ago, I never really thought I would come to a point in my life where my dream to climb a mountain would come to reality.
It was in December 29, 2019 when I had my first hike. It was in Mt. Ulap in Itogon, Benguet. Even though unsure of what I am about to do I said yes to my mother who keeps on asking me that we should try to hike.
I can still remember how exhausted I was when we were still walking in a concrete path on the way to the first signage of Mt. Ulap, not even a kilometre walk but I was already catching for my breathe. I was already questioning myself if I should continue the hike or just go back. Bpon reaching the first signage I was already mesmerized by the view that awaits us and I know that there is so much more once we reach the summit. So I continued.
Hiking becomes a hobby, meeting and getting along with different kinds of people have been a normal routine, nature had become my safe space, a training ground, a life lesson, and something that keeps me going.
This experience taught me a lot, it has become a way for me to discover a lot of things about myself. I can say that it helps me to become a better version of myself, it brought me a new learning experiences, and it has been a way for me to get to know a lot of amazing people with different stories to tell and an experiences to share.
